Issues & Remedies (Cessna 172 & SixPackPlus products)

Please reach us at ron@altimetermotives.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

  • Sometimes, after major simulator update, the interface links between the software and the simulator will need to be restablished.   To do this, please run the plugin installer using the link provided here.  (Download the Windows version and run it).
  • Ensure that your panel's controller cable is plugged in to a working USB port on your computer.
  • Gen2 only - Ensure the Gen2 controller is firmly seated into the panel's connector.

  • To provide adequate power to the internal display monitor, the SixPackPlus products must be plugged into a powered USB port.
  • Microsoft Windows may want to manage the power to some USB devices.   You do not want it to do this for the SixPackPlus, as it can cause the device to misbehave and disappear unwantedly.  Manty flight simulation peripherals require you to disable Microsoft Power Management.   An excellent instruction on how to accomplish this can be found in an article written by RealSimGear.  A link is provided here:

This issue could occur with previous releases of our dedicated Air Manager software when, unintentionally, two copies of the software run simultaneously.  This situation could often be created when one double-clicks the program icon on a Windows 11 taskbar.   The issue is now prevented with our current software release.

Should you experience this issue, please close out all running copies of the software and then r unplug the controller's USB cable. Then reconnect it to a working USB port on your computer.  This process  is necessary to reboot the controller's firmware.

As our programs are custom versions of Sim Innovations's (www.siminnovations.com) Air Manager, there can be installations where the program does not connect with the simulator.

If you have run the plugin installer and are still having connection issues, it is likely that your computer's firewall or other setting may be the cause.  These situations are well documented on the Sim Innovations Troubleshooting website - Link provided here.
